The U.S. Navy has awarded Lockheed Martin Corp. a $25 Million contract modification for a sonar system upgrade. The upgrade will utilize commercial hardware and software and will be performed on Virginia Class ships which are in the process of being modernized. The work, which will take place pre-dominantly in Manassas, VA with the remainder completed at Lockheedâs Clearwater location, is expected to be completed in December 2011.
