Extant Aerospace has won a potential six-year, $147.3 million contract from the U.S. Air Force to produce line replaceable units and shop replaceable units for the ALE-47 countermeasure dispenser system.
The Department of War said Friday the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center at Robins Air Force Base in Georgia conducted a competitive acquisition process and received two offers for the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract.
What Is the Scope of the Air Force Contract?
Work under the IDIQ contract will take place in Melbourne, Florida, and is expected to run through Aug. 27, 2032. The contract covers foreign military sales, which will be cited on each individual order placed under the vehicle.
The Air Force obligated funding at the time of award, including $1.1 million in fiscal 2026 defense working capital funds, $1.8 million in fiscal 2025 aircraft procurement Navy funds and $2.2 million in fiscal 2026 aircraft procurement Navy funds.
What Is Extant Aerospace?
Extant Aerospace is a Melbourne, Florida-based supplier of avionics, electronics and electromechanical products for the aerospace and defense markets.
Extant Components Group acquired Symetrics Industries in 2010, and the combined business has since completed more than 50 acquisitions and exclusive license agreements with industry partners, including L3Harris, Collins Aerospace and GE, supporting over 10,000 part numbers. The company now produces, repairs and supports thousands of part numbers and assemblies across commercial aerospace and defense platforms.
In July, Extant Aerospace announced an expansion of its Melbourne facility, adding manufacturing space and jobs to support continued production growth.
