- Inspirit Equity has acquired Valiant Integrated Defense Services’ O&M division
- Valiant O&M will operate independently as Vulcan Government Services
- The new independent company will provide services to hospitals and research labs
Inspirit Equity has acquired the operations and maintenance division of Valiant Integrated Defense Services, an independent provider of facilities, maintenance and logistics services to government agencies, the Los Angeles-based private equity firm announced Thursday. Financial terms were not disclosed.
What Will Vulcan Government Services Provide?
Under the agreement, Valiant O&M will operate as an independent company called Vulcan Government Services. VGS will support hospitals, medical facilities, research laboratories and other critical infrastructure through facility operations and maintenance services. Its offerings will also include chemical management and logistics support.
The company will pursue growth both organically and through acquisitions, with near-term plans to add dedicated business development staff, build out its construction capabilities and pursue work in existing and adjacent markets.
Prior to the transaction, Valiant’s O&M division supported military bases and facilities in remote and demanding environments, as well as sites serving intelligence, peacekeeping and training operations. Its offerings also included launch support, equipment maintenance, chemical management and health, safety, environment and quality management. It also supported small capital projects and asset modernization efforts.
Chuck Phillips, who led the O&M business as Valiant’s vice president and general manager, will serve as CEO of the new company.
“As a standalone company, we can operate with greater focus, agility and strategic flexibility,” said Phillips. “Inspirit’s support will allow us to continue investing in our people, expand our capabilities, and deliver the reliable service our customers count on every day.”
What Did Inspirit Equity CEO Say About the Acquisition?
Charles Gores, founder and CEO of Inspirit Equity, said VGS has built a strong reputation for delivering specialized work in settings where reliability and performance are critical.
“Demand for those services continues to grow as agencies invest in the readiness and resilience of critical infrastructure, and we’re excited to support the team as they build on that foundation,” Gores added.
