Comcast Business has named Sachin Patel vice president of Comcast Government Services, according to a press release the company sent to GovCon Wire on Monday.
What Role Will Sachin Patel Play?
In his new position, Patel will oversee efforts to grow Comcast Business’ federal portfolio, including managing customer engagement, operational execution and long-term strategy.
His role will involve advancing secure, high-performance connectivity and managed services that support federal government customers as they update network infrastructure and adopt secure, compliant IT capabilities.
He will also lead a multidisciplinary team of sales, strategic business development and technical engineering experts and position Comcast as a mission-critical partner to the public sector.
“What drew me here is the foundation Comcast Business has built – the infrastructure, the customer relationships, the commitment to reliability,” said Patel.
“There’s a real opportunity to go deeper with government customers as they take on modernization in earnest, and I’m looking forward to building that with this team,” he added.
Who Is Sachin Patel?
Patel has more than two decades of experience in telecommunications and federal IT.
He most recently served as Comcast Business’ vice president of government services strategy and operations, managing federal customer programs and service delivery.
Before joining Comcast, Patel spent over two decades at AT&T, where he held multiple senior leadership roles. He led AT&T’s Federal Technology Office, overseeing federal IT infrastructure, network operations, product strategy, and compliance with the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program and the Federal Information Security Modernization Act, as well as standards set by the National Institute of Standards and Technology.
He also led AT&T’s global network engineering and edge delivery organization, comprising more than 1,400 personnel responsible for designing and implementing secure, large-scale enterprise and government capabilities.
Earlier roles at the company included service management, technology leadership and chief architect positions.
