Beavercreek, Ohio-based FTI Defense has appointed Matt Salter, a government technology industry veteran, as chief growth officer.

FTI Defense CEO Jose Hidalgo welcomed Salter’s addition to the company’s senior executive team in a statement published Tuesday.

“Matt’s skills and experience will be instrumental in accelerating the adoption of FTI’s mission-aware, AI-powered technologies and expertise to help our warfighters make faster and better mission decisions and quickly improve critical processes,” Hidalgo said.

Who Is Matt Salter?

Salter is an industry executive with experience supporting federal defense and national security customers.

He spent 17 years at Noblis, where he most recently served as vice president and CGO. During his tenure at the nonprofit science and technology organization, he also served as federal civilian business development director and transportation systems senior manager.

According to his LinkedIn profile, he founded and served as managing partner of Salter Shey Group. He also spent six years at Arnold Palmer Enterprises, where he was assistant general manager and facility safety officer.

Salter said he is excited to drive growth initiatives at FTI Defense.

“FTI Defense’s investments in next-generation, AI-powered technologies and services that accelerate mission critical decisions and drive critical process improvements are perfectly aligned with national security technology needs today: rapid speed to solution, affordable cost, non-disruptiveness to existing systems, and scalability,” he added.

FTI Defense develops and offers AI-powered analytics, modeling and simulation, defensive cyber software and technology-enabled services for national defense missions.

According to the company, its platforms are designed to help warfighters improve mission operations and decision-making in complex operational environments while integrating with existing systems without disrupting operations or limiting customer data ownership.

Operating in 34 states, FTI Defense works across multiple classification levels and maintains seven facilities with varying clearance capabilities nationwide.

In 2024, the company won a spot on the U.S. Space Force’s potential $1 billion Rapid Resilient Command and Control contract to develop a next-generation ground system for military satellites.
