According to the award notice posted Wednesday on SAM.gov, BAE Systems’ Norfolk Ship Repair division will provide labor, supervision, equipment, production, testing, facilities and quality assurance necessary to prepare for and accomplish the Chief of Naval Operations Availability for critical modernization, maintenance and repair programs.
The firm-fixed-price contract is initially valued at $123.2 million, with options that could bring the cumulative value to the maximum amount. It supports the USS Forrest Sherman’s Fiscal Year 2026 Depot Modernization Period, or DMP.
Based on the project’s solicitation notice, the work is scheduled to begin in February 2026 and is expected to be completed by August 2027. The contract was awarded through a full and open competitive process.
