Under the Lot 3 award, Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota is set to receive the first set of aircraft.
“The MH-139A offers increased speed, range and payload capacity critical to supporting U.S. national security missions,” said Azeem Khan, MH-139 program director at Boeing. “We look forward to delivering these advanced aircraft to bases across the country.”
According to Boeing, the Air Force recently concluded initial operational test and evaluation flights for the MH-139A aircraft as the program advances toward initial operational capability.
To date, the company has delivered 18 MH-139As, including 12 low-rate initial production helicopters. Boeing wrapped up deliveries for the first operational unit at Malmstrom AFB in Montana and expects to deliver four more helicopters to the Air Force this year.
