BWX Technologies has announced the appointment of Mike Fitzgerald as the company’s permanent chief financial officer. Fitzgerald was named interim CFO on May 12 after Robb LeMasters stepped down as executive vice president and CFO, BWXT said Thursday.
According to Rex Geveden, BWXT president and CEO, Fitzgerald has done an outstanding job as interim CFO. “I continue to be impressed by his strategic vision and deep understanding of the business,” he added.
In 2024, the Northern Virginia Technology Council recognized Fitzgerald’s financial leadership at the manufacturing and engineering company with a Rising Star Award.
Mike Fitzgerald’s Professional Experience
Fitzgerald has served the company since 2022, beginning as vice president of finance and chief accounting officer, responsible for overseeing and reporting on the company’s daily financial operations.
Before joining BWXT, he was the managing director of MorganFranklin’s aerospace and defense practice. He also became an audit senior manager at Deloitte & Touche.
The executive currently serves on the board of the nonprofit organization CRi.
A James Madison University graduate, Fitzgerald earned a master’s degree in business administration from Fitchburg State University.
