General Dynamics Information Technology has appointed Michael Grochol as vice president of technology.
In his new role, Grochol will lead the company’s technology strategy and support the development of innovative technology solutions.

Who Is Michael Grochol?
A U.S. Air Force veteran with more than 100 combat missions in support of the U.S. Special Operations Forces, Grochol brings over 20 years of experience in leading digital transformation initiatives in the defense and intelligence space.
Grochol joined GDIT following its 2024 acquisition of Iron EagleX, a technology company he founded and led as CEO. Under his leadership, IEX became known for its delivery of agile, mission-ready solutions in the areas of artificial intelligence, cyber, software development and cloud services for the SOF and the intelligence community. The company was named one of Tampa Bay’s Best Places to Work in 2024 and one of Inc. magazine’s Fastest Growing Companies in 2023.
Grochol previously held leadership roles at various startups supporting defense and intelligence agencies.
The executive is a member of the Open Geospatial Consortium and the American Geographical Society and was a member of the U.S. Geospatial Intelligence Foundation’s board of directors.
