Prior to her recent promotion, Patterson was the deputy VP and GM of civil space for under a year. She served as director of programs when she joined BAE Systems in February 2024. She was also with Ball Aerospace as the senior director of program when its acquisition by BAE Systems was completed.
Patterson spent nearly five years at L3Harris Technologies as a program manager and deputy director of civil and commercial imaging. She was a deputy program manager at Harris, one of the companies that formed L3Harris in 2019.
The executive also worked as a senior mechanical engineer at Eastman Kodak for over eight years and as a systems analytical engineer for NexPress Solutions for three years. She initially joined Eastman Kodak in 1998, serving as the media handling team leader for the engineering systems division.
