Sierra Nevada Corp. will produce and maintain Degraded Visual Environment Pilotage System, or DVEPS, units to the U.S. Special Operations Command under an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract with a maximum value of nearly $471.6 million.
SNC will work on the contract, which also includes logistics support, in Sparks, Nevada, with completion expected by June 2030, the Department of Defense said Tuesday. The award, a contracting activity of USSCOM, MacDill Air Force Base, Florida, provides a six-month option.
SNC Contract Funding Details
Close to $52.9 million in funding is being obligated at the time of the award, composed of about $8 million in Task Order 1 for logistics support and approximately $44.8 million as Task Order 2 for B-kits. The firm-fixed-price, cost-plus-fixed-fee contract provides cost reimbursement terms and excludes infrared camera lens sensors in the pilotage systems.
Pre-Award Research on Multi-Sensor Contractors
The award followed a sources sought notice USSOCOM issued in February 2024 for market research on potential vendors of a multi-spectral sensor system for enhanced situational awareness during and after shifting from visual meteorological conditions to a degraded visual environment.
