MANTECH Taps Steve Kapinos as Chief Cyber Officer

MANTECH announced Wednesday that it has promoted Steve Kapinos, its vice president for cognitive cyber, to chief cyber officer.

Kapinos assumes an executive post overseeing the deployment and adoption of cyber capabilities to support mission operators operating in increasingly contested digital environments.

What Are Steve Kapinos’ Career Credentials?

Kapinos has been at MANTECH for almost 18 years, where he has led teams responsible for building and fielding cyber defense capabilities that safeguard client networks and systems. During his tenure, he also served as an adviser to the company’s senior leadership on cyber policy matters affecting the business and its government customers.

Before joining MANTECH, Kapinos worked briefly for Securicon as a senior security engineer. He also served as a network security engineer at M&T Bank from 2001 to 2005.

Between 1998 and 2008, Kapinos became a consultant for companies including SAIC, Global Integrity/Predictive Systems and INS.

What Other Organizational Changes Has MANTECH Made?

Kapinos is not the only new executive appointment MANTECH has announced this month. The company revealed Monday that it has named Christopher Copeland as chief innovation officer and Brian Keith as chief digital officer and vice president of digital practice. Copeland has 25 years of experience under his belt, including 2 years at MANTECH. Keith also has over 25 years of experience, with previous roles at IBM and Microsoft.

Last month, MANTECH appointed Eric Brown as chief product officer. Brown was previously the company’s chief innovation officer and senior vice president of innovation and capabilities. MANTECH also promoted Kristen Summers from vice president and technical fellow of data and artificial intelligence to chief data and AI officer. Summers’ past companies include IBM, where she was a distinguished engineer and AI chief technology officer for data and AI expert labs and learning, and CACI, where she spent 15 years as technical director. Earlier in her career, Summers was a research engineer at Thomson Corp.
