Virginia Robinson, a seasoned legal adviser and business strategist, has been selected to serve as interim president of Chugach Government Solutions.
CGS said Thursday Robinson will take on the interim role to help in the transition to a new president. The company’s board of directors is currently conducting an executive search to find a successor to Dirk van der Vaart, who served as president for less than a year.
Career History
Robinson boasts nearly two decades of experience in the legal profession. As a legal executive, she has a proven track record of defending high-stakes litigation cases and advising on mergers and acquisitions. She also spearheaded corporate governance initiatives and business growth strategies.
The CGS executive is currently the senior vice president and chief legal officer. She was appointed to the dual roles only in February.
Before joining CGS, she worked at Tlingit Haida Tribal Business Corp. for nearly three years. She served as general counsel, chief ethics & compliance officer and corporate secretary of THTBC, where she was responsible for all legal and compliance functions.
The CGS executive spent over a year as the deputy general counsel and chief ethics & compliance officer at Amentum. She was integrated into the technical and engineering services company after it acquired DynCorp International in 2020.
In her eight years at DynCorp, Robinson served in various leadership roles, including deputy general counsel and chief counsel for labor and employment, and environmental, health and safety.
Early in her career, Robinson worked as an associate for various law firms and a law clerk for a couple of judges in Virginia.
Jonathan Dalrymple, CEO of CGS, remarked, “Chugach is confident Virginia’s appointment as interim president, along with the support of a capable and well-rounded executive leadership team, will enable us to continue advancing our mission while we search for our next leader.”
