Cummins Power Generation has won a potential $509.5 million contract from the U.S. Army to produce and supply Advanced Medium Mobile Power Sources systems to help the service branch and other Department of Defense components meet their tactical power generation requirements.
The Army announced the award of the firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract in a notice published Wednesday on SAM.gov.
AMMPS are medium-sized generators used to supply electricity to weapons systems and military equipment. These Jet Propellant 8-fueled generators should be produced and delivered in 5 kilowatt, 10kW, 15kW, 20kW and 60kW sizes and 50/60 Hertz and 400 Hz power configurations.
The single-award IDIQ contract has a three-year base ordering period and an optional ordering term of six years and includes interface kits, trailers and switch boxes. It also covers changes and modifications to the generator sets, associated control systems and optional accessories or kits, according to a solicitation issued in August.
