Pratt & Whitney, an RTX (NYSE: RTX) business, has been awarded a $256.3 million contract option by Naval Air Systems Command to maintain fielded F-35 propulsion systems for domestic and international military customers.
The engine builder will support depot-level F135 maintenance and repair activities under the exercised option, the Department of Defense said Tuesday.
Work will occur in Connecticut, Oklahoma, Indiana, Florida, Texas, Norway, Netherlands, Japan, Australia, Italy and the U.K.
DOD expects work under the contract modification to conclude in November 2023.
The U.S. Navy, Marine Corps and Air Force will obligate a total of $178 million on the award using their fiscal 2023 operations and maintenance funds.
Funds coming from non-DOD participants and FMS customers are $50.1 million and $28.16 million, respectively.
