BAE Wins $2 Billion in Electronic Warfare Contracts


BAE announced today that it has been awarded two new contracts from the Department of Defense worth nearly $2 Billion. The first of these projects is allotted $1.94 Billion and aims to create an all-weather driver vision enhancers in order to assist in operating military vehicles during all weather and light conditions.

The second, valued at $347 Million, is based on hand-held laser locator modules that can identify battlefield targets. BAE spokeswoman Karen Spiller says, “Both of the systems provide a much-needed capability for the war fighter.’’ The new devices will aid both the Army and Marine Corps. These items are already in demand with 338 vision enhancers and 1, 190 target locator modules already requested.

BAE Systems, along with others are focusing on cyber security breach prevention and electronic warfare tools to keep up with global trends. BAE’s focus is in producing systems aimed at de-centralized threats.
