Lauren Pittenger, formerly a director at global consulting firm Guidehouse, has been appointed vice president of human services portfolio at Rockville, Maryland-headquartered research company Abt Associates.
She will lead human services engagement for government customers such as the departments of Labor, Agriculture and Education, Abt Associates said Friday.
“Lauren will help our client account teams deliver evidence-based, equity-centered solutions and support to a wide variety of human services topics, missions, and programs that will improve the wellbeing of the most vulnerable,” said Christen Smith, senior vice president of Abt’s U.S. domestic business.
Pittenger previously spent 14 years at Booz Allen Hamilton (NYSE: BAH), where she managed a scientific program, before her stint at Guidehouse.
Earlier in her career, she was a lab manager at the Department of Agriculture and conducted research on antimicrobial-resistant foodborne pathogens.
