President Joe Biden on Thursday signed into law a $1.7 trillion omnibus spending bill to fund the federal government through the end of September 2023, ABC News reported Friday.
The Biden administration prevented a government shutdown with the signing of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, which includes $858 billion for defense spending and $773 billion for nondefense discretionary spending.
The bipartisan spending package includes $38 billion in emergency disaster assistance, $40 billion in funding to help Ukraine counter Russian invasion and the Electoral Count Reform Act.
Also included in the package is a bill that seeks to prohibit the use of social media platform TikTok on government devices.
