Leidos (NYSE: LDOS) will maintain surface ship undersea warfare systems for the U.S. Navy and the governments of Australia and Japan under a contract worth potentially $291.9 million.
The company will install AN/SQQ-89 combat system shipset hardware and perform logistics support work under the contract with an initial value of $24 million, the Department of Defense said Thursday.
Ninety-eight percent of contract purchases are from the Navy and the remaining 2 percent are from the two foreign military sales customers.
According to the Navy’s AN/SQQ-89(V) fact sheet, the system is designed with an open architecture and works to help operators detect and engage undersea targets.
Leidos is a sponsor for the Potomac Officers Club’s Annual Navy Summit, which will feature Navy Secretary Carlos Del Toro as the keynote. Visit our POC Events page to register for the June 2 in-person event at The Ritz-Carlton, Tysons Corner.
