The companies that will supply components for the Defiant X helicopter are ATI Forged Products, Collins Aerospace, Elbit Systems of America, Parker Aerospace, Magnaghi Aeronautica and Marotta Controls, according to a joint release published Thursday.
Elbit Systems will provide mission systems computer for the aircraft, while Collins Aerospace will supply the Perigon flight control and vehicle management computer and aircraft seats.
Gearbox forgings and landing gear will come from ATI and Magnaghi, respectively.
Parker Aerospace will supply flight controls, hydraulic pumps and modules, while Marotta Controls will provide electrical power system components for the helicopter.
The suppliers will work to meet the Army’s Modular Open Systems Approach requirements and adopt advanced manufacturing processes to design and build Defiant X, which will get its HTS7500 turboshaft engine from Honeywell (Nasdaq: HON).
The Army is expected to award the FLRAA contract in 2022.
