Former senior U.S. national security leaders Sue Gordon, Richard Spencer and Ryan McCarthy have joined the board of the U.S. proxy organization of London-based satellite communications company OneWeb to ensure compliance with U.S. government regulations and safeguard classified information.
OneWeb Technologies CEO Bob Roe said in a statement published Thursday the newly appointed board members will guide the U.S. proxy organization as it continues its work as a satcom services provider to U.S. and allied governments.
Gordon, former U.S. principal deputy director of national intelligence, will serve as chairman of the board at OneWeb Technologies. She previously served as deputy director of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, helped establish In-Q-Tel and spent nearly three decades at the CIA.
Spencer is former secretary of the Navy. He previously served as acting secretary of defense and performed the duties of the deputy secretary of defense. His industry career included time as managing director of Fall Creek Management, vice chairman and chief financial officer of Intercontinental Exchange and president of Crossroads Investment Management.
McCarthy is former secretary of the Army. He previously served as undersecretary of the Army and held vice president roles at Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT). He serves on the boards of CACI International (NYSE: CACI), Tomahawk Robotics and Strive Works and is a venture partner and special adviser at Scout Ventures.
Gordon, Spencer and McCarthy are previous Wash100 awardees.
