Tetra Tech (Nasdaq: TTEK) has purchased Axiom Data Science for an undisclosed sum to broaden its climate data analytics platforms and will operate the acquired company as part of its government services group.
Axiom is based in Anchorage, Alaska, and performs climate science modeling to help federal, academic, nongovernmental organizations and commercial clients integrate, manage and visualize datasets that are key to addressing climate change, Tetra Tech said Tuesday.
Dan Batrack, chairman and CEO of Tetra Tech, said the company uses digital technology with its Leading with Science approach and the latest transaction will enable Tetra Tech to expand its analytics capabilities in ecosystems and oceans to advance climate science for NASA, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and other clients.
Rob Bochenek, founder and CEO of Axiom, said joining Tetra Tech will allow the company to further improve its ability to deliver specialized products to customers and provide employees opportunities to work on environment and water programs around the globe.
