The joint venture of Axient and Metis Technology Solutions will help a U.S. Space Force unit carry out a safety program at various satellite launch sites under a potential $53.5 million contract.
Metis Technology Partners will help USSF’s Space Launch Delta 45 to manage hazardous and safety operations as part of the single-award Pad Safety Support Contract II, Axient said Wednesday.
MTP will support activities such as flight terminal system integration and checkout, spacecraft refueling and refueling, launch vehicle lifting and transportation, launch operations and incident response.
The contract also includes launch safety planning documentation, technical reviews of new space lift programs and certification of pressure vessels and systems.
Patrick Murphy, president and CEO of Axient, said the company has supported launch safety initiatives in the military sector for more than 15 years.
