Raytheon Technologies (NYSE: RTX) has expanded its intelligence and space business with the addition of SEAKR Engineering, a Centennial, Colorado-headquartered space electronics manufacturer it recently acquired for an undisclosed sum.
Roy Azevedo, president of Raytheon Intelligence & Space, said in a statement published Monday there is an increasing demand in the space market for innovation, better technological expertise and faster delivery of space products at a higher standard.
“SEAKR Engineering provides depth and strength across all these areas with a portfolio of proven space electronics and a forward-leaning culture of commitment, and we welcome them to the RI&S team,” added the three-time Wash100 Award recipient.
The recently acquired company uses its own Radiation Hardened system By Design techniques for its space-qualified electronics. SEAKR systems are developed for advanced processors, digital channelizers and beamformers, networked systems as well as reconfigurable radio frequency and electro-optical payloads. To date, more than 300 space operations have been completed with the company’s electronics.
The acquisition was first announced in mid-September with both companies signing a definitive agreement.
