OMB Unveils New Framework to Advance Biden Administration’s Management Priorities

The Office of Management and Budget has introduced a three-part framework that serves as a roadmap for advancing the Biden administration’s management priorities to strengthen the federal government’s capacity to deliver results to all U.S. citizens.

The Biden-Harris Management Agenda Vision has three priorities: strengthening and empowering the federal workforce; delivering excellent, equitable and secure federal services and customer experience; and managing the business of government to build back better, the White House said Thursday.

The current administration will advance each of the three priorities through specific strategies. For the first priority, the government will work to attract and hire the most qualified employees and develop a roadmap to the future of federal work informed by workforce and workplace trends and lessons from the COVID-19 pandemic.

The government will advance the second priority through three strategies and one of those is identifying and prioritizing the development of federal shared products, services and standards that enable secure and seamless customer experiences across high impact service providers.

The third priority comes with two strategies and these are promoting lasting improvements in the federal acquisition system and building capacity in federal financial management.

OMB and the President’s Management Council will designate leaders for each priority area of the framework, also known as the President’s Management Agenda, and will announce the next steps to advance the roadmap in the next few weeks.
