Leidos Assumes IT Management Responsibility for Navy, Marine Corps Networks; Daniel Voce Quoted

Leidos (NYSE: LDOS) has taken over the responsibility for information technology operations of three shore-based Department of the Navy networks after the company completed the transition phase for the Next Generation Enterprise Network Recompete contract‘s services portion.

Reston, Virginia-based Leidos won the $7.7 billion NGEN-R Service Management, Integration and Transport contract in February 2020 to maintain the Navy-Marine Corps Intranet, OCONUS Naval Enterprise Network and the Marine Corps Enterprise Network.

The company said Monday it engaged in talks with the Government Program Office to cut the transition process by three months and assume work from an incumbent contractor by Aug. 1.

“With this contract, the Navy is moving closer to enterprise networks that can more rapidly develop, test and deploy new mission-critical technologies while maintaining the highest levels of cybersecurity,” said Daniel Voce, senior vice president and enterprise and cyber solutions operations manager at Leidos.

Under the eight-year contract, the company intends to apply artificial intelligence and virtual lab operations to modernize networks for the Navy and Marine Corps.

Leidos added that it plans to help the two service branches improve user experience through the implementation of omnichannel services.
