PSC Reports Federal Procurement Forecast Data Improvements; Stephanie Kostro Quoted

A Professional Services Council analysis of procurement forecasts at 69 federal agencies has shown an improvement in the overall availability and timeliness of public information that companies use to manage business planning activities for government contracting programs.

PSC said Tuesday that its talks with government officials and previous assessments led to better results in the council’s 2021 Federal Business Forecast Scorecard.

The U.S. Agency for International Development earned perfect marks for providing offerors with accurate and up-to-date information on projected opportunities.

The trade association gave honorable mentions to the Defense Health Agency for improving data formats and the Department of Homeland Security for modernizing the Acquisition Planning Forecast System portal.

“Effective, informative agency forecasts are critical to successful procurement—for both the U.S. Government customer and for industry partners—especially since forecasts are often the first step in programmatic activity,” said Stephanie Kostro, executive vice president for policy.

PSC, which represents more than 400 federal contractors, used 15 criteria to rate agency business forecast data.
