Tony Mitchell, formerly vice president of business development and strategy at Leidos‘ (NYSE: LDOS) Dynetics group, has been appointed VP of advanced technology and strategy at military electronics supplier CAES.
He will be responsible for coordinating CAES’ independent research and development projects and its partnerships with government laboratories and large prime defense contractors, the company said Thursday.
His responsibilities will also include the implementation of strategic growth plans for identifying new customers and expanding business opportunities with existing clients.
In his more recent role, Mitchell led Dynetics’ R&D, advanced manufacturing and prototyping efforts. He previously worked at BAE Systems Inc. as director of business development for two years and at Arete Associates as senior manager of business development for six years.
He also served as a U.S. Air Force officer for two decades prior to his two-year tenure as executive director of the branch’s scientific advisory board.
