Raytheon Technologies Books $90M Navy Contract to Supply Submarine Antenna Systems

Raytheon Technologies (NYSE: RTX) has received a potential $90.3M contract to provide next-generation satellite antenna systems for the U.S. Navy’s submarines.

The contract covers the delivery of 23 Submarine High Data Rate antennas designed to support the undersea vessels’ functions for high-capacity communications, the Department of Defense said Thursday.

The SubHDR system includes a mast antenna that handles multiband communications with networks such as the Global Broadcast Service, Milstar constellation and the Defense Satellite Communications System.

Naval Information Warfare Systems Command will obligate the firm-fixed-price contract's full amount in fiscal 2021 Navy shipbuilding and conversion funds at the time of award.

Twenty-six percent of work will take place in Largo, Florida, and the remaining 74 percent in Massachusetts, New Jersey, California and New Hampshire. Contract services are slated to conclude by January 2024.

Previously, Raytheon secured a $70M indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity award to manufacture, test and sustain SubHDR components for the Navy.
