An industry team led by General Dynamics‘ (NYSE: GD) information technology business will help the Department of Defense implement cloud-based communication and collaboration applications under a potential 10-year, $4.4B blanket purchase agreement.
Dell Marketing and Minburn Technology Group serve as GDIT’s teaming partners for the DEOS program to support the implementation of Microsoft 365 email, storage, file sharing, spreadsheet, word processing and collaboration programs in a cloud environment intended to host the department’s unclassified and classified information.
DoD Chief Information Officer Dana Deasy, a two-time Wash100 Award recipient, said the agreement is part of the Pentagon’s digital modernization strategy aimed at creating a single enterprise platform that will support departmentwide information exchange and cybersecurity.
Deasy’s office worked with the Defense Information Systems Agency and GSA to help the department address duplicate email systems and manage the commercial cloud technology contracting process via the Information Technology Schedule 70 vehicle.
The DEOS BPA has five base years, a pair of two-year options and an additional one-year extension.
