Six companies have received a $1B contract modification under a multiple-award U.S. Navy contract vehicle for contingency construction services at various locations around the world.
The modification brings the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract's value to $2.09B and may cover initial base operations support for the service branch as well as other Department of Defense and federal agencies, the DoD said Tuesday.
Tasks are intended to support government humanitarian assistance and response efforts in times of natural disasters, conflict and other similar situations, according to the Pentagon.
Naval Facilities Engineering Command Atlantic will obligate funds upon issuance of subsequent modifications on each task order.
