Tory Bruno, CEO of United Launch Alliance and a previous Wash100 awardee, said the establishment of U.S. Space Command has resulted in improvements in how the Department of Defense communicates and engages with industry, Defense News reported Wednesday.
An element of what Space Command is doing is making sure they know how to execute their mission and what their mission will look like going forward, Bruno said Wednesday. So they have been engaged with industry on the challenges that they are facing in coping with space as a war-fighting domain. So they are asking people for ideas and for evaluations of theories and trade studies and assessments.
He discussed how the creation of SPACECOM has put emphasis on space as a warfighting domain and cited the Space Development Agencys efforts to work with industry.
