Dan Kent, a 28-year information technology industry veteran, has joined augmented identity and biometric systems provider IDEMIA as senior vice president and chief technology officer for identity and security business in North America. He will oversee IT, cybersecurity, product management and engineering work as head of the newly created IT group at IDEMIA, the company said Tuesday.
Kents leadership style and experience in delivering technology platforms to complex customer environments will complement the companys executive team, said Ed Casey, CEO of IDEMIA’s identity and security business.
“Dan is a recognized innovator and a change agent who has had a significant impact in driving change in the public sector regarding topics, which include: cloud, cybersecurity and the Internet of Things, Casey added.
Prior to IDEMIA, Kent previously worked at Cisco Systems (Nasdaq: CSCO) as U.S. public sector CTO and architecture lead. He also served as senior director of systems engineering for Ciscos public sector business. He spent a decade at Nortel Networks as director of engineering and served as a consulting engineer at Network Solutions.
