Engility (NYSE: EGL) will provide production support services for the local area networks of the U.S. Navy in tactical afloat and submarine settings under a five-year, $90 million task order awarded through the SeaPort-e platform.
The company said Tuesday it will also provide software engineering services under the Tactical Network Technical and Production Support task order from the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center – Atlantic.
Lynn Dugle, chairman, president and CEO of Engility, said the company will aid in the implementation of the Navy’s next-generation networks for tactical afloat applications.
“Building flexibility, resiliency and adaptability into these networks will keep the Navy’s information technology infrastructure operating effectively well into the 21st century,” added Dugle, a 2018 Wash100 recipient.
The TACNET task order covers systems on ships, submarines and shore sites of the U.S. Navy and will provide support for the Navy Integrated Product teams that manage afloat tactical networks on fleets.
Work will also provide aid for programs such as the Automated Digital Network System, Consolidated Afloat Network Enterprise Systems, Integrated Shipboard Network Systems and the Submarine Local Area Network.
