Wray Varley, former vice president of the government segment at telecommunications equipment maker Infinera, has joined BT Federal as president and CEO, FierceTelecom reported Thursday.
The report said Varley succeeds Tony Wellen, who has served as BT Federal’s interim CEO over the past six months and returned to his full-time post as chief operating officer of the Reston, Virginia-based company.
Prior to Infinera, Varley worked in various government-focused roles at CenturyLink (NYSE: CTL), Verizon and Qwest.
BT Federal holds positions on the Defense Information Systems Agency‘s $4.3 billion telecom network services contract and the General Services Administration‘s $50 billion Enterprise Infrastructure Services contract.
