Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) has secured a potential nine-year, $750 million contract to help the U.S. Army modernize the service branch’s fixed-wing airborne intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance aircraft.
The company said Thursday it will provide lifecycle services to the Special Electronic Mission Aircraft fleet composed of the RC-12X Guardrail along with the Enhanced Medium Altitude Reconnaissance Surveillance System and the Airborne Reconnaissance Low variants.
King Aerospace and M1 Support Service will help Northrop offer systems engineering and modification, supply chain management, program management, aircraft modifications and elective update services to the Air Force.
John Parker, vice president of global logistics and modernization at Northrop’s technology services unit, said the company aims to help modernize Air Force systems and prepare its aircraft fleet for current and future missions.
The company will service approximately 75 aircraft through 2027 if all contract options are exercised.
