September 19th Market Close: GovConIndex Up as the Major Indices All Set New Records

The Executive Mosaic GovCon Index (GCI) posted another YTD high with its third consecutive daily increase, up 0.867 percent to 104.825. Engility Holdings topped the GCI with an almost 5 percent daily gain, while SAIC, AECOM, ICF, and ManTech International all posted greater than 2 percent increase on the day.

All three major indices all closed at new record highs. The S&P500 reached 2,506.65 up 0.151percent, while the DJIA gained 0.18 percent to 22,370.80, and the NASDAQ Composite, moved upward by 0.10 percent to close at 6,461.32.

Crude oil retreated after seven days of advancing. WTI on the NY Mercantile Exchange closed down 0.72 percent to $49.55 per barrel as the market awaits anticipated U.S. crude inventory numbers.
