The Executive Mosaic GovCon Index (GCI) followed the major indices to close up 0.787 percent to 102.181, reaching a new 30 day high. Advancing outpaced declining shares 6 to 1.
Investors responded positively to better than expected damage reports from Hurricane Irma. The major indices all closed up as the S&P500 reached a new high of 2,488.11 increasing by 1.08 percent, while the DJIA gained 1.19 percent to 22,057.37 and the NASDAQ Composite moved up 1.13 percent to close at 6,432.26.
Crude oil advanced on the day with WTI on the NY Mercantile Exchange closing up 1.18 percent to $48.04 per barrel.
