September 6th Market Close: GovConIndex Closes Slightly Down While Major Indices Close Up


The Executive Mosaic GovCon Index (GCI) closed down for the second day. The GCI was off 0.255 percent to close at 101.341. Advancing and declining shares closed even on the day.

The major indices reversed yesterday’s negative close with the S&P500 up 0.31 percent to 2,465.54, while the DJIA advanced 0.25 percent to 21,807.64, and the NASDAQ Composite gained 0.28 percent to close at 6,393.31. Lawmakers reached an agreement with President Trump to extend the U.S.debt limit and fund the government through December 15th.

Crude oil continued its positive direction as WTI on the NY Mercantile Exchange closed up 1.01 percent to $49.15 per barrel. The Texas Gulf Coast works to get refineries back online and Florida bracing for Hurricane Irma.

November 7th Market Close: GovConIndex Closes Up While Major Indices Close Mixed

The Executive Mosaic GovCon Index (GCI) closed up today by 0.240 percent to 108.301. Booz Allen Hamilton (NYSE:BAH) topped the GCI posting greater than a 2.00 percent gain, while CACI (NYSE:CACI), McKesson Corp. (NYSE:MCK), Raytheon (NYSE:RTN) and Lockheed Martin (NYSE:LMT) all closed with more than 1.0 percent gains. Advancing and declining shares were split evenly. The three major indices
