According to the Department of Defense, “General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) is being awarded a $9, 250, 951 modification to previously awarded contract (N00024-06-C-4402) for the USS Pearl Harbor (LSD 52) fiscal 2011 phased maintenance availability. A phased maintenance availability provides for an extensive renovation and modernization of a dock landing ship, including alterations and repairs as well as inspection and testing to all ships systems and components ensuring safe and dependable operation of the ship. Work will be performed in San Diego, Calif., and is expected to be completed by May 2011. Contract funds in the amount of $9, 250, 951 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Southwest Regional Maintenance Center, San Diego, Calif., is the contracting activity.”
