John McCormack
John McCormack, former CEO of security firm Forcepoint, has been appointed to serve as Fidelis Cybersecurity‘s interim president and CEO, CRN reported Monday.
The two-decade security industry veteran succeeds Peter George, who has led Fidelis as chief executive since it was acquired by Los Angeles-based Marlin Equity Partners from General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) in May 2015.
McCormack also serves as an operating executive at Marlin’s operations group where his work concentrates on operational due diligence and support processes for the investment firm’s software and technology portfolio companies.
He previously held the positions of CEO, president and senior VP of product development at Websense, which former parent company Vista Equity Partners merged with Raytheon‘s (NYSE: RTN) cyber division in 2015 to form the cybersecurity joint venture now called Forcepoint.
McCormack also served in various leadership roles at Symantec (Nasdaq: SYMC), Sygate Technologies, Cisco Systems (Nasdaq: CSCO) and Tandem.
