Retired Army Lt. Gen. Charles Cleveland Joins Roboteam Board

Charles Cleveland, former commanding general of the U.S. Army‘s Special Operations Command, has joined Roboteam‘s board of directors.

The retired Army lieutenant general will advise Roboteam leadership on efforts to develop unmanned ground vehicles that will support warfighter missions, the company said Tuesday.

“Cleveland’s extensive experience with military strategy and Special Operations will inspire our specialty engineers to build next-generation robotics suited for these exact challenges,” said Heidi Shyu, Roboteam chairman of the board.

His military career includes roles such as chief of staff of the Army Special Operations Command and commander of the Special Operations Command-Central, a military command in charge of special operations across the Middle East and Central Asia, and 10th Special Forces Group.

Gaithersburg, Maryland-based Roboteam offers unmanned platforms and controllers to the defense, law enforcement and public safety markets.
