According to the Department of Defense, “General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) is being awarded a $45, 251, 611 indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity, cost-plus-fixed-fee multiple award contract for engineering support services including SUBSAFE and LEVEL 1 support services for submarines and surface ships. Efforts will include: systems engineering; technical analyses; mechanical and electrical design; manufacturing; installation; test and evaluation; and repair, including services in the field and the response to any emergent field repairs, to support existing and future fleet systems programs. Support will be provided on torpedo tube systems; torpedo ejection systems; internal and external launcher systems; cargo handling systems; special purpose and shipboard test equipment; and high speed launchings. This includes auxiliary and anti-submarine warfare countermeasure launchers, and associated launch control panels, as well as other ship systems. This tasking is also to support the documentation and repair of the 688 Class Submarine Vertical Launch System. Work will be performed in Groton, Conn., and is expected to be completed by August 2015. Contract funds in the amount of $20, 000 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) is being awarded a $12, 907, 949 modification to the previously awarded cost-plus-incentive-fee contract (N00019-08-C-0028) for the procurement of one Marine Corps Short Take-off and Vertical Landing Joint Strike Fighter Full Mission Simulator trainer for the Marine Corps Air Station, Yuma, Ariz. Work will be performed in Orlando, Fla. (98 percent), and Fort Worth, Texas (2 percent), and is expected to be completed in November 2012. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity.
