FLIR Systems (Nasdaq: FLIR) has purchased San Francisco-based night vision and thermal imaging equipment supplier Armasight through a cash transaction valued at approximately $41 million.
Andy Teich, president and CEO of FLIR, said in a statement released Tuesday the acquisition aims to expand the company’s portfolio of thermal weapon sights and scopes in support of customers in military, law enforcement and outdoor hunting markets.
FLIR will integrate Armasight™s scopes, night vision goggles, binoculars and illuminating systems with its thermal weapon sights and personal vision tools and operate the consolidated business line as FLIR Outdoor and Tactical Systems within the former company™s surveillance segment.
FLIR said it expects the deal to be earnings neutral in 2016 and accretive in years thereafter.
