The National Archives and Records Administration has asked industry to supply technical information on tools built to capture, manage and preserve content from social media networks.
NARA said Wednesday in a FedBizOpps notice it seeks commercial technology that can archive data on more than 120 social media blogs, accounts and channels as well as comply with federal records management and electronic discovery laws.
The agency indicated the tool should “provide 100 percent real-time capture for all posts and comments in context, including metadata such as platform type, creation timestamp and username.”
NARA is looking for technology that can also work to manage old social media content and filter out-of-policy feeds.
Interested vendors can submit white papers that detail their data archiving tools by March 2.
