Mike Lisman Named TransDigm President & CEO, Succeeds Kevin Stein

Mike Lisman has been selected as the next president and CEO of the TransDigm Group, succeeding Kevin Stein, who will officially retire on Sept. 30.

The Cleveland-based company specializing in engineered aircraft components said Tuesday Stein will remain an adviser until March 31, 2026, to guide Lisman through the transition. He will also continue serving as a member of the TransDigm Group Board of Directors.

Mike Lisman

Lisman currently serves as the co-chief operating officer. He was previously the chief financial officer and executive vice president, providing operational oversight for multiple operating units of the company. He also served as VP of mergers and acquisitions.

The executive was also with Aero Fluid Products, a TransDigm subsidiary that specializes in designing and manufacturing highly engineered valves and actuation products. He served as business unit manager for the air and fuel valves business unit and director of mergers and acquisitions.

Lisman worked at Warburg Pincus before joining TransDigm in 2015.

Kevin Stein

Stein has been with Transdigm for over a decade. In 2018, he was appointed president and CEO and selected as a member of the board. Stein served as COO of the company’s power and control business unit when he joined TransDigm in 2014.

The outgoing president and CEO previously worked at Precision Castparts as the executive VP and president of both the structurals and fasteners divisions. Stein also spent time at Cooper Industries and Tyco Electronics.

“During his tenure as our CEO, and prior to that as COO, Kevin has generated substantial shareholder value by driving operational excellence and continuing our track record of successful capital deployment and acquisitions,” said Nicholas Howley, the chairman of the board of directors at TransDigm.

“Mike’s promotion to president and chief executive officer is a planned transition that is the product of thoughtful succession planning,” continued Howley.
