OSIbeyond CEO and GovCon expert Payam Pourkhomami on achieving CMMC Level 2 certification

OSIbeyond Earns CMMC Level 2 Certification

Managed IT services provider OSIbeyond has received Level 2 certification under the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification, or CMMS, program.

In a statement published Wednesday, Payam Pourkhomami, president and CEO of OSIbeyond, expressed excitement with the achievement of the CMMC Level 2 certification, which he said demonstrates the company’s commitment to supporting customers in the defense contracting sector.

“Since recognizing the importance of CMMC compliance back in 2020, we have committed to ensuring that our clients’ success is supported by our capability to assist them with compliance. It was imperative for us not to impede our clients’ businesses,” added Pourkhomami, a GovCon expert on CMMC.

The company secured the certification from Edwards Performance Solutions, a CMMC third-party assessment organization.

Assisting Organizations Seeking CMMC Certification

As a CMMC-certified managed services provider, OSIbeyond will work to help organizations seeking CMMC Level 2 certification through its two platforms – Managed CMMC Compliance Solution and Co-Managed CMMC Compliance Solution.

The company’s Managed CMMC Compliance Solution is a fully managed platform designed to help organizations meet compliance and technical requirements and allow them to focus on core operations.

The Co-Managed CMMC Compliance Solution provides key technical and engineering expertise to organizations while enabling their internal teams or preferred CMMC consultants to manage compliance efforts.

What Is CMMC Level 2 Certification?

CMMC is a Department of Defense program designed to facilitate the implementation of cybersecurity best practices for DOD operations to help supply chain participants improve their cyberthreat detection and response efforts.

The CMMC Level 2 certification assures DOD that an organization seeking CMMC assessment can protect Controlled Unclassified Information, or CUI. It requires organizations to implement all 110 security controls outlined in the National Institute of Standards and Technology Special Publication 800-171.

The certification is a key requirement for vendors bidding on DOD contracts involving CUI.
