The global, all-domain defense provider said Wednesday the contract covers advanced training support meant to boost the operational readiness and proficiency of the ANG’s fleet of flying units.

Under the task order, HII will provide the expertise and manpower needed to support the distributed mission operations, or DMO, events held at ANG’s Distributed Training Operations Center, located on the Des Moines ANG base. Furthermore, the company will provide pilot training for the ANG and various training opportunities for the joint forces.
The DTOC, part of the 132d Combat Training Squadron, serves as a hub linking over 90 simulation sites nationwide. It provides critical training for the total and joint forces to enhance their readiness.
The company will deploy the Joint Simulation Bus, a vital Department of Defense software interface, to modernize the DTOC’s gateway connection. It will also utilize DMO test tools that can be accessed through the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center’s Advanced Training Capabilities Program Office.
HII will perform contract work primarily in Des Moines, Iowa.
“Incorporating live, virtual, constructive elements into training dramatically increases the level of realism for air units and enables them to enhance the critical skills needed to succeed in the face of global threats,” said Michael Lempke, president of global security at HII’s Mission Technologies.
