EACOWT Appoints Joe Uglialoro as COO, Chris Hetmanski as CTO

Eutelsat America Corp. and OneWeb Technologies, or EACOWT, has appointed Joe Uglialoro as chief operating officer and Chris Hetmanski as chief technology officer, effective immediately.

The Eutelsat Group subsidiary said Wednesday Uglialoro will remain as general counsel while taking on his new role as COO. Hetmanski was promoted to CTO after serving as senior vice president of strategic product development since 2023.

In his dual role, Uglialoro will oversee various teams, including operations, engineering, security, legal and compliance. He is responsible for ensuring the efficient delivery of services to clients.

The legal and operations executive will leverage his two decades of experience in government contracting and driving the growth of various public organizations and private companies, as well as his vast knowledge in regulatory frameworks, legal and compliance, and mergers and acquisitions.

Uglialaro held a wide range of leadership roles at several global telecommunications companies, including MicroTech, Intelsat General, GTSI, France Telecom, PSINet and CommSite International.

Chris Hetmanski

As the new CTO, Hetmanski will be responsible for developing and implementing the company’s technology strategy. He will oversee the PMO, sales engineering and integration engineering teams, ensuring delivery of services to customers.

Hetmanski served as CTO for various companies, including UltiSat, Airbus, and Vizada. He was also the director of systems engineering at Telenor and a software engineer at Lockheed Martin, ComSat and MITRE
