Cloud detection and response platforms provider Mitiga has named Charlie Thomas, a technology executive, as CEO.
In this capacity, Thomas will oversee Mitiga’s expansion efforts as the company broadens its geographic reach and continues to enhance its platform to meet the rising demand for cloud security platforms, the company said in a Feb. 4 news release.
His appointment came after Mitiga raised $30 million in a Series B funding round led by SYN Ventures.
Tal Mozes Transitions to Chief Business Officer
With the recent move, Tal Mozes, Mitiga’s founding CEO, will become chief business officer focused on the company’s business expansion efforts in Europe. He will continue to serve on the company’s board of directors.
Mitiga also appointed John Watters, former president and chief operating officer of Mandiant, as executive chairman, and Robert Rodriguez, venture partner at SYN, as a board member.
Career Background of Charlie Thomas
He previously served as the founding chief executive of cybersecurity firm Deepwatch.
Thomas has over 30 years of experience leading and growing technology startups into industry leaders.
According to his LinkedIn profile, the University of Virginia has served as a board member or investor at several software, cybersecurity and technology companies, including Mitiga and Deepwatch. He also sits on the advisory board of hyperautomation platform provider Torq.
